Truck backs up into Duplex

Engine 31, Rescue 31, Tactical 31, Special Operations 31, District Chief 9, and Battalion Chief 9 responded to a call for a Nissan Pathfinder that had driven through a duplex. The vehicle was backed into a parking spot in front of the duplex. The owner put it in reverse instead of drive and accelerated through the building causing major structural damage. Temporary supports were constructed and the building was turned over to the County Building Department. In a weird twist of fate, the owners family was at a neighbors house for the night due to a power outage. The owners child would have been sleeping directly in the crash zone, his crib was crushed. No one was injured.
