Hot Shots for 2007
B Shift is woken up to an early morning house fire
July 16th 2007 - Engine 31 responded with Station 43 units to find a single story home with smoke and fire showing from the front of the residence. Crews pulled hose lines and quickly knocked down the fire while searching for any victims that might have been trapped inside. After a quick search, it was learned that no one was home when the fire started.

Vehicle Accident on Jog Road
July 12th 2007 - Units from Station 43 and 46 responded to a motor vehicle accident to find two accidents approx 1500 yards apart. Due to the vehicle being upside down with heavy damage and the patient trapped upside down as well, Special Operations 31 was called to assist units on scene. The engine and transmission of a BMW Z4 were laying approx. 30 feet from the car from the result of the accident. The only injuries from this accident was the driver of the BMW who was flown by trauma hawk to Delray Community Hospital.

Mercury Spill
February 2007 - Crews respond to a mercury spill when a homeowner dropped a old-style mercury thermometer. The spill was contained and cleaned using a mercury spill kit with no remaining residual.
Single vehicle accident with 5 trauma alerts!
January 16th 2007 - Crews from the 31 House responded to a motor vehicle accident with possible ejections on Congress Ave just south of 6th Ave in Lake Worth. When units arrived, they found a single vehicle that had flipped several times, landing upright with the roof torn completely off with heavy damage to the car, multiple patients either laying on the ground or sitting upright near the accident, all complaining of being ejected from the vehicle with numerous injuries. While the car was flipping around, the back of the vehicle hit a telephone pole leaving the poles imprint near the trunk of the vehicle. A total of 5 patients were transported to the local trauma centers (two by air, and three by ground) and one occupant was dead on arrival.
